Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29961

Ali bin Saeed Al-Kindi told us, he said: Abu Muhyah Yahya bin Ya’la bin Ata’ told us, on the authority of Abd al-Malik bin Umair, on the authority of Ibn My brother Abdullah bin Salam, he said, when I wanted to kill Othman, Abdullah bin Salam came, and Othman said to him, “He did not bring you.” He said, “I came to help you.” . He said, “Go out to the people and drive them away from me, for you are better for me outside than you are inside.” So Abdullah went out to the people and said, “O people, it was My name in pre-Islamic times was so-and-so, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, called me Abdullah, and verses from the Book of God were revealed about me. In me: (And a witness from the Children of Israel bore witness to the like of it, but he believed, but you were arrogant. Indeed, God does not guide an unjust people.) And it was revealed in me: (Say God is sufficient as a witness between me and you and whoever has knowledge of the Scripture.) Indeed, God has a sword sheathed over you, and the angels have Your neighbor in this country of yours, in which the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, descended, so by God, by God, regarding this man, if you kill him, then by God, if you kill him You will expel the angels from your neighbors and you will draw the sheathed sword of God from you, so that it will not be sheathed from you until the Day of Resurrection. They said, “Kill the Jew and kill Uthman.” Abu Issa said, “This is a strange hadith, but we know it from the hadith of Abd al-Malik ibn Umair.” Shuaib bin Safwan narrated this hadith on the authority of Abdul Malik bin Umair, and he said on the authority of Omar bin Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Salam, on the authority of His grandfather, Abdullah bin Salam.
