وَعَن يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ: جِئْتُ رَسُولَ اللّهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَجَلَسْتُ وَلَمْ أَدْخُلْ مَعَهُمْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ رَسُولُ اللّهِ ﷺ رَانِىْ جَالِسا فَقَالَ: «ألم تسلم يَا يزيد؟» قُلْتُ: بَلى يَا رَسُولَ اللّهِ قَدْ أَسْلَمْتُ. قَالَ: «وَمَا مَنَعَكَ أَنْ تَدْخُلَ مَعَ النَّاسِ فِىْ صَلَاتِهِمْ؟» قَالَ: إِنِّىْ كُنْتُ قَدْ صَلَّيْتُ فِي مَنْزِلِىْ أَحْسَبُ أَنْ قَدْ صَلَّيْتُمْ. فَقَالَ: إِذَا جِئْتَ الصَّلَاةَ فَوَجَدْتَ النَّاسَ فَصَلِّ مَعَهُمْ وَإِنْ كُنْتَ قَدْ صَلَّيْتَ تَكُنْ لَكَ نَافِلَةً وَهَذِه مَكْتُوبَة» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد
On the authority of Yazid bin Amir, he said: I came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, while he was in prayer, and I sat and did not join them in prayer. When the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, left, he saw me. He sat down and said: “Didn’t you say hello, Yazid?” I said: Yes, O Messenger of God, I have converted to Islam. He said: “What prevented you from joining the people in their prayer?” He said: I had prayed in my house, and I thought you had prayed. He said: When you come to prayer and find people, pray with them, and if you have already prayed, it will be voluntary for you, and this is written. Narrated by Abu Dawood
