Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #44766

Abdul Rahman told us, Sufyan told us, on the authority of Qais bin Muslim, on the authority of Tariq bin Shihab, on the authority of Abu Musa, he said, I came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. peace be upon him while he was in Batha’, and he said, “Why did you make the crescent moon?” I said, “With a crescent moon like the crescent moon of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace,” and he said, “Did you I was given a sacrificial animal to drink. I said, “No.” He said, “Circumambulate around the House, Safa, and Marwah.” Then he came, so I circumambulated the House, Safa, and Marwah, then I came to a woman from I got up and she combed me and washed my head, and I used to issue fatwas to the people about that regarding the leadership of Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him, and the leadership of Omar, may God be pleased with him. On his authority, I was standing during the season when a man came to me and said, “You do not know what the Commander of the Faithful has narrated regarding ritual rituals.” So I said, “O people.” Whoever we gave a fatwa to, this is the Commander of the Faithful coming to you, so complete it. When he came, I said, “What is this who has come?” You mentioned regarding the rituals. He said, “If we follow the Book of God Almighty, for God Almighty said, “And complete the Hajj and the Umrah for God.” We follow the Sunnah of our Prophet, for it is not permissible until we slaughter the sacrificial animal.
