Sunan ad-Darimi — Hadith #55151

Abu Nu`aym told us, Bashir ibn al-Muhajir told us, Abdullah ibn Buraida told me, on the authority of his father, he said: I was sitting with the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. May God bless him and grant him peace. Then a woman from Banu Ghamid came to him and said: O Prophet of God, I have committed adultery, and I want you to purify me. So he said to her: “Go back.” The next day, she went to him again, confessed to him that she had committed adultery, and said: O Prophet of God, purify me, so that you may reject me as you rejected a goat. Ibn Malik, by God, I am pregnant, so the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to her: “Go back, so that “You will give birth.” When she gave birth, she brought the boy, carrying him in a cloth, and said: O Prophet of God, you have given birth. He said: “Then go and breastfeed him, then Wean him.” Then when she weaned him, she brought him the boy with a piece of bread in his hand, and said: O Prophet of God, I have weaned him, so the Prophet commanded, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. May God bless him and grant him peace. So he was handed over to a man of the Muslims, and he ordered her to be dug a hole for her, and she was placed in it up to her chest. Then he ordered the people To stone her, so Khaled bin Al-Walid approached with a stone and threw her head, and blood smeared on Khaled bin Al-Walid’s cheek. So he cursed her, and the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, heard him cursing her, so he said: “No, Khaled, do not curse her, for by the One in whose hand is my soul, she has repented.” Repentance, if the owner of the tax had repented, he would have been forgiven.” So he ordered that the funeral prayer be performed over her, and she was buried.
