Sunan ad-Darimi — Hadith #55449

Abu Al-Numan told us, Yazid bin Zurayi told us, Dawud told us, on the authority of Abu Nadhrah, on the authority of Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri: that Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari asked permission to come to Omar three times, but he was not given permission, so he returned and said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying: “If The person seeking permission asked for permission three times: If permission is given to him, otherwise let him return. Then he said: Bring someone who will testify with you, or I will do so. And I will do so. Abu Sa`id said: He came to us while I was among some of the Companions of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, in the mosque, and he was terrified of the threat. Omar took him to him, so he stood up to us and said: I seek by God a man from among you who heard that from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and who will bear witness to it for me. He said: So I raised my head and said: Tell him that I am with you on this. Others said that, and it was narrated on the authority of Abu Musa.
