Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #26444

Qutaibah narrated to us, Al-Layth narrated to us, on the authority of Ibn Ajlan, on the authority of Summah, on the authority of Abu Salih, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, he said: Some of the companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, complained The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, pointed out the difficulty of prostrating for them when they were watching, and he said, “Seek help from the knees.” Abu Jesus, this is a strange hadith. We do not know it from the hadith of Abu Salih, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, except from this perspective, from the hadith of Al-Layth, on the authority of Ibn Ajlan. This hadith was narrated by Sufyan bin Uyaynah and more than one person, on the authority of Sumayyah, on the authority of Al-Nu’man bin Abi Ayyash, on the authority of The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said something like this. It is as if the narration of these people is more correct than the narration of Al-Layth.
