Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #26485

Abu Issa said: The people of knowledge differed regarding walking to the mosque. Some of them were of the opinion that one should hurry. If he was afraid, he would miss the first takbeer, until it was reported on the authority of some of them that he was rushing to prayer. And among them were those who disliked hastening and chose to He walks with patience and dignity, and this is what Ahmad and Ishaq said, and they said, “Act according to the hadith of Abu Hurairah.” And Ishaq said, “If he is afraid, he will miss it.” The first takbeer, there is nothing wrong with him walking quickly.
