Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #26931

Abu Issa said: The hadith of Uqba bin Amir is a good and authentic hadith. And work on This is according to the people of knowledge. They dislike fasting on the days of Tashreeq, except that some of the Companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and others granted permission for the one who is doing tamattu’ if He did not find a sacrificial animal and did not fast on the ten days of Tashreeq. This is what Malik Ibn Anas and Al-Shafi’i say. And Ahmad and Ishaq. Abu Issa said, “And the people of Iraq say Musa bin Ali bin Rabah, and the people of Egypt say Musa bin Ali.” And he said: I heard Qutaibah saying: I heard Al-Layth bin Saad saying: Musa bin Ali said: I do not make anyone halal if he shortens my father’s name.
