Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27160

Abdullah bin Abi Ziyad narrated to us, Yaqoub bin Ibrahim bin Saad narrated to us, my father narrated to us, on the authority of Salih bin Kaysan, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Salem bin Abdullah, on the authority of his father, said: Omar bin Al-Khattab said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “The dead person is tortured by the crying of his family.” “And on the authority of Ibn Omar and Imran bin Husayn. Abu Issa said: The hadith of Omar is a good and authentic hadith. The people of knowledge about crying over the dead said that the dead person is tortured by his family crying over him. They went to this hadith. Ibn Blessed One, I hope that if he forbids them during his lifetime, he will not have to do any of that.
