Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #28653

Hanad narrated to us, Abu Al-Ahwas narrated to us, on the authority of Laith, on the authority of Shahr bin Hawshab, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Ghanam, on the authority of Abu Dharr, he said, he said The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, “God Almighty says, ‘O My servants, all of you are astray except those I have guided. So ask Me for guidance and I will guide you. And all of you are poor except those I have enriched myself, so ask Me for sustenance for you, and all of you are sinners except those whom I have pardoned. So whoever among you knows that I am capable of forgiveness, so ask my forgiveness, I will forgive him. And I do not care, even if the first of you and the last of you, your living and your dead, your fresh and dry, gathered together in the most pious heart of a servant of My servants, this in My kingdom is nothing more than the wing of a mosquito, even if the first of you and the last of you, the living of you and the dead of you, the fresh of you and the dry of you were to gather in the most miserable way. The heart of one of My servants is nothing less than the wing of a mosquito, even if I were the first of you and the last of you, the living of you, the dead of you, and the freshest of you. And you gathered together in one place, and each one of you asked what his wish was fulfilled, so I gave each of you who asked what he asked for, whatever that was short of. My kingdom is as if one of you passed by the sea and dipped a needle in it and then raised it to him. This is because I am a mighty horse and I will do what I do. I want My gift to be words, and My torment to be words. My command is only for a thing. If I will it, I say to it, “Be,” and it is. He said this is a hasan hadith. He narrated Some of them reported this hadith on the authority of Shahr ibn Hawshab, on the authority of Maadikarib, on the authority of Abu Dharr, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and something similar.
