Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #28831

Mahmoud bin Ghaylan narrated to us, Waki’ and Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, on the authority of Sufyan, on the authority of Al-A’mash, on the authority of Abdullah bin Murrah, on the authority of Masruq, on the authority of Abdullah bin Masoud, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “There is no soul that is killed unjustly but a measure of its blood is due upon the son of Adam.” This is because he was the first to institute killing. And Abd al-Razzaq said, “He enacted killing.” Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith. Ibn Abi Umar narrated to us, Sufyan bin Uyaynah narrated to us, on the authority of Al-A’mash, with this chain of narration, similar to it, meaning he said “the age of killing.”
