Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29407

Hanad told us, Abu Muawiyah told us, on the authority of Al-Amash, on the authority of Amara bin Umair, on the authority of Abdul Rahman bin Yazid, he said Abdullah said I was Hidden by the curtains of the Kaaba, three people came, with a lot of fat on their bellies and little understanding in their hearts: a Quraysh, and two Thaqafiyan or two circumcised them. Thaqafi and his two circumcisers were circumcised by Quraysh, so they spoke something that I did not understand, and one of them said, “Do you think that God hears these words of ours?” Then the other said, “If we We raised our voices and he heard him, and if we did not raise our voices he did not hear him. The other said, “If he heard something from him, he heard all of it.” He said Abdullah. So I mentioned that to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and God revealed: (And you did not conceal yourself lest your hearing nor your sight should bear witness against you. Nor your skins) to his saying: (You have become among the losers). Abu Issa said: This is a good hadith. Mahmoud ibn Ghaylan, Waki’ narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, on the authority of Al-A’mash, on the authority of Amara bin Umair, on the authority of Wahb bin Rabi’ah, on the authority of Abdullah, and the like.
