Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29467

Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman told us, Muhammad bin Kathir told us, on the authority of Al-Awza’i, on the authority of Yahya bin Abi Kathir, on the authority of Abu Salamah, on the authority of Abdullah bin Salam, he said: A group of the companions of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, sat down and we discussed each other and said, “If only we knew which deeds I love.” To God we would have done it, so God Almighty revealed: (Glory be to God whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and He is the Mighty, the Wise. * O you who have believed, why have You say what you do not do.) Abdullah bin Salam said, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, recited it to us. Abu Salamah said. So Ibn Salam recited it to us. Yahya said, so Abu Salamah recited it to us. Ibn Kathir said, so Al-Awza’i recited it to us. Abdullah, and Ibn Kathir recited it to us. Abu Issa said, Muhammad bin Kathir was contradicted in the chain of transmission of this hadith on the authority of Al-Awza’i. Ibn Al-Mubarak narrated on the authority of Al-Awza’i, on the authority of Yahya bin Abi Kathir, on the authority of Hilal bin Abi Maymunah, on the authority of Ata’ bin Yasar, on the authority of Abdullah Ibn Salam or on the authority of Abu Salamah on the authority of Abdullah Ibn Salam. Al-Walid Ibn Muslim narrated this hadith on the authority of Al-Awza’i in the form of a narration Muhammad bin A lot.
