Hadith #29507
Abdullah bin Saeed Abu Saeed Al-Ashjaj told us, Abu Khaled Al-Ahmar told us, on the authority of Dawud bin Abi Hind, on the authority of Ikrimah, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said: The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, was praying, and Abu Jahl came and said: Did I not forbid you from this? Did I not forbid you from this? Did I not forbid you from this? Then the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, went away and greeted him, and Abu Jahl said, “Indeed, you know that there is no more caller in it than me.” So God revealed: “Let him leave his caller.” We will leave the zabaniyah.” Ibn Abbas said, “By God, if he had called his caller, the zabaniyah of God would have taken him.” Abu Issa said: This is a good hadith. Gharib and Sahih. And it is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him.
