Muhammad ibn Abd al-Malik ibn Abi al-Shawareb narrated to us, Yusuf ibn al-Majishun narrated to us, my father narrated to me, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman al-Araj, on the authority of Ubaid Allah bin Abi Rafi’, on the authority of Ali bin Abi Talib, that when the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, would stand up for prayer, he would say: “I directed My face is towards the One who created the heavens and the earth, in a single line, and I am not of the polytheists. Indeed, my prayer and my sacrifice and my living and my death belong to God, Lord of the worlds, with no partner. And thus I was commanded, and I am one of the Muslims. O God, You are the King. There is no god but You. You are my Lord and I am Your servant. I have wronged myself. And I confessed my sin, so forgive me all my sins. No one can forgive sins except You. And guide me to the best of morals. No one can guide me to the best of morals except You. And turn away from me its evil, for no one can turn away its evil from me except You. I believe in You, Blessed and Exalted are You. I seek Your forgiveness and I repent to You. Then, when he bowed, he said, “O God, to You I kneeled, and in You I believed, and to You I submitted, my hearing, my sight, my brain, my bones, and my nerves submit to You.” Then, when he raised his head, he said, “O God, our Lord, to You is praise, filling the heavens and the earth and filling what is between them and filling whatever You wish after.” So when he prostrated, he said, “O God, to You I prostrated, and in You I believed, and to You I submitted my face prostrated to the One who created it, fashioned it, and divided its hearing and sight.” Blessed be God, the best of creators. Then the last thing he says between the tashahhud and the salaam is: “O God, forgive me for what I have done and what I have delayed.” And what I have concealed and what I have declared, and what you know better than me, you are the one who gives precedence and you are the one who is the one who is the one who will delay. There is no god but you.” Abu Issa said this. A good and authentic hadith
