Hadith #46348
On the authority of Anas, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and his companions set out until they preceded the polytheists to Badr. The polytheists came, and the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “None of you should approach anything until I am inferior to him.” Then the polytheists approached, and the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Arise to a garden as wide as the heavens and the earth.” He said: Umair ibn al-Hammam says: Al-Ansari, may God be pleased with him: Oh The Messenger of God, a paradise as wide as the heavens and the earth? He said: “Yes.” He said: “Bakh, Bakh.” Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “What makes you say, Bakh, Bakh?” He said, “You are one of its people.” So he took out dates from his horn and began to eat from them. Then he said, “If I live until I eat these dates of mine, it will be a long life!” So he threw away the dates he had with him, then fought them until He was killed” ((Narrated by Muslim)). (4)
