And on the authority of Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with him, that Omar bin Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, went out to the Levant until when he was at Sarg, the commanders of the soldiers - Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah and his companions - met him and informed him that the epidemic had occurred in the Levant. Ibn Abbas said: Omar said: Call the first emigrants for me, so I called them, consulted them, and told them that the epidemic had occurred in the Levant, but they disagreed, and some of them said: I went out for an order, and we do not think you should turn away from it. And he said. Some of them: With you The rest of the people and the companions of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and we do not see that they are ahead of this epidemic. He said: Get away from me, then he said: Call for me the Ansar. So I called them, so he consulted them, and they followed the path of the immigrants, and disagreed as they disagreed. He said: Get away from me, then he said: Call for me whoever of the chieftains of Quraysh from the emigrants of the conquest was here, so I called them, and two of them did not disagree with him. They said: We think that you should return with the people, but no They advanced on this epidemic, so Omar, may God be pleased with him, called out to the people: I am dawning on the afternoon, so they woke up on it, and Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah, may God be pleased with him, said: Fleeing from the decree of God? Then Omar, may God be pleased with him, said: If someone else had said it, O Abu Ubaida! - and Omar hated to disagree with him - yes, flee from the decree of God to the decree of God. Have you seen it, if you had camels, and you descended into a valley that had two enemies? One of them is fertile, and the other is barren. Isn’t it if you nurture the fertile one? I tended it according to the power of God, and if you tended the barren tree, then I tended it according to the power of God? He said: Then Abd al-Rahman bin Awf, may God be pleased with him, came, and he was absent for some of his needs, and he said: I have knowledge of this. I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying: “If you hear of it on land, do not approach it, and if it falls on land while you are on it, do not escape from it.” So God Almighty praised Omar, may God be pleased with him. And he left. (Agreed (on him). And Al-Adwa: the side of the valley
