Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #26186

Yahya bin Musa told us, Ibrahim bin Musa al-Razi told us, Khaled bin Abdullah told us, on the authority of Amr bin Yahya, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abdullah bin Zaid, he said, I saw the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, rinsing his mouth and nose from one palm. He did that three times. Abu Issa said: And in Chapter on the authority of Abdullah bin Abbas. Abu Issa said, and the hadith of Abdullah bin Zayd is Hasan Gharib. Malik and Ibn Uyaynah narrated This hadith is not one, on the authority of Amr bin Yahya, and they did not mention this letter, that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, rinsed his mouth and sniffed from one palm. It was only mentioned by Khalid bin Abdullah. Khalid bin Abdullah is trustworthy and a memorizer of the hadith scholars. Some of the people of knowledge said: Rinsing the mouth and inhaling from one palm is sufficient, and some of them said that separating them is more beloved to us. Al-Shafi’i said that bringing them together in one palm It is permissible, even if it separates them, it is more beloved to us.
