Qutayba bin Saeed told us, Malik bin Anas told us, on the authority of Aamir bin Abdullah bin Al-Zubayr, on the authority of Amr bin Sulaym Al-Zarqi, on the authority of Abu Qatada, he said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “When one of you comes to the mosque, he should perform two rak’ahs before he sits.” He said: The chapter on the authority of Jabir, Abu Umamah, Abu Hurairah, Abu Dharr, and Ka’b ibn Malik. Abu Issa said, and the hadith of Abu Qatada is a hasan hadith. Sahih. This hadith was narrated by Muhammad bin Ajlan and more than one person, on the authority of Aamir bin Abdullah bin Al-Zubayr, similar to the narration of Malik bin Anas... Suhail bin Abi Saleh narrated this hadith on the authority of Aamir bin Abdullah bin Al-Zubair, on the authority of Amr bin Sulaym Al-Zarqi, on the authority of Jabir bin Abdul God, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. This is an unpreserved hadith, but the correct one is the hadith of Abu Qatada. This hadith is to be acted upon when Our companions considered it desirable, when a man enters the mosque, not to sit until he has prayed two rak’ahs, unless he has an excuse. Ali bin Al-Madini said The hadith of Suhail bin Abi Salih is an error. Ishaq bin Ibrahim told me that on the authority of Ali bin Al-Madini.
