Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27580

Abdullah bin Sahl said to them, “Will you swear fifty oaths and then you will be worthy of your companion or your killer?” They said. And how can we swear when we do not bear witness? He said, “Then the Jews will acquit you with fifty oaths.” They said, “How can we accept the oaths of an infidel people?” When he saw That is the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, he gave his mind. Al-Hasan bin Ali Al-Khallal told us, Yazid bin Harun told us, Yahya bin Saeed, on the authority of Bashir bin Yassar, on the authority of Sahl bin Abi Hathamah, and Rafi’ bin Khadij, similar to this hadith in its meaning.
