Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29231

Ibn Abi Umar told us, Sufyan told us, on the authority of Abu al-Zinad, on the authority of al-Araj, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “God Almighty said Glory be to Him, and His word is the truth. If My servant intends to do a good deed, write it down for him as a good deed, but if he does it, write it down for him ten times as much. And if he intends to do a bad deed, do not write it down. If he does it, write it down like it. If he leaves it, and perhaps says he did not do it, write it down. He has a good deed, then he recited: (Whoever does a good deed will have ten times more of it.) “Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith.
