Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29241

Ahmad bin Mani’ told us, Waki’ told us, on the authority of Usama bin Zaid, on the authority of Salih bin Kaysan, on the authority of a man, whom he did not name, on the authority of Uqba bin Amir, The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, recited this verse on the pulpit: (And prepare against them whatever strength you are able) He said, “Except that Strength: Archery three times. Indeed, God will open for you the land, and supplies will be sufficient, so none of you will be unable to play with his arrows.” Abu Issa said: Some of them narrated this hadith on the authority of Usama ibn Zayd, on the authority of Salih ibn Kaysan, on the authority of Uqba ibn Amir. It was narrated by Abu Usama and more than one person, and the hadith of Waki’ is more authentic. And Salih bin Kaysan did not catch Uqba bin Amir, but he caught up with Ibn Umar.
