Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29344

Abdullah bin Abi Ziyad narrated to us, Abu Zaid narrated to us, on the authority of Awf, on the authority of Qasamah bin Zuhair, Al-Ash’ari narrated to us, he said when it was revealed: (And warn your closest clan.) The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, put his two fingers in his ears and raised his voice and said, “O Banu Abd! It is a contradiction, O Subah. Abu Issa said: This is a strange hadith in this respect from the hadith of Abu Musa. Some of them narrated it on the authority of Auf, on the authority of Qasamah ibn Zuhayr, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, as a mursal report, but they did not mention in it the authority of Abu Musa, and he is more correct. I mentioned Muhammad ibn Ismail with him. He did not recognize him from the hadith of Abu Musa.
