Muhammad bin Bashar narrated to us, Muadh bin Hisham narrated to us, my father narrated to me, on the authority of Qatada, on the authority of Abu Qilaba, on the authority of Khalid bin Al-Lajlaj, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, who said: “My Lord came to me in the best form and said, ‘O Muhammad, I said, ‘My Lord, my Lord, and I am pleased with you.’ He said, ‘Why? The highest assembly is disputing. I said, “My Lord, I do not know.” Then He placed His hand between my shoulders, and I found its coolness between my breasts. So I knew what is between the East and the West. He said, “O Muhammad.” So I said, “I am Your Lord, and I am Your lord.” He said, “What should the highest councils dispute about?” I said, “On degrees and expiations, and on Moving the feet to congregational prayers, performing ablution thoroughly during disliked things, and waiting for prayer after prayer. And whoever maintains them lived well and died. He was fine, and his sins were as the day his mother gave birth to him.” He said, “This is a good, strange hadith from this perspective.” He said, in the chapter on the authority of Muadh bin Jabal and Abd al-Rahman bin Aish, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.
