Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29393

This hadith was narrated in length, on the authority of Muadh ibn Jabal, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, who said: “I fell asleep and fell into a heavy sleep, and I saw my Lord in The best form is when he said about what the highest assembly is disputing. “Muhammad bin Bashar told us, Muadh bin Hani Abu Hani told us. Al-Yashkari narrated to us: Jahdham bin Abdullah, on the authority of Yahya bin Abi Kathir, on the authority of Zayd bin Salam, on the authority of Abi Salam, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Aisha Al-Hadrami said that he told him on the authority of Malik bin Yakhamir Al-Saskiski on the authority of Muadh bin Jabal, may God be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was detained from us. One morning he greeted the morning prayer until we could almost see the sun, so he quickly went out and dressed for prayer, so the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, prayed and passed through... His prayer. When he said the salutation, he called with his voice and said to us, “In your ranks as you are.” Then he turned to us and said, “As for I will tell you what kept me away from you in the morning. I got up during the night and performed ablution and prayed what was decreed for me. Then I fell asleep in my prayer until I became heavy. So, behold, I am in my Lord, Blessed and Most High, in the best form. Then he said, “O Muhammad.” I said, “Labbayk, my Lord.” He said, “Why are the highest councils disputing?” I said, “I don’t know.” He said it three times. He said, “I saw him put his palm between my shoulders until I felt the coolness of my fingertips between my breasts, so everything became clear to me and I knew.” So he said, O Muhammad. I said, “At your command, my Lord.” He said, “On what will the highest councils dispute?” I said, “Concerning the expiations.” He said, “What are they?” I said, “I walk.” Going to congregational prayers, sitting in mosques after prayers, and performing ablution thoroughly when doing things that are disliked. He said, “Why did I say feed the food and be soft?” Speech and prayer at night while the people are asleep. He said, “Ask.” I said, “O God, I ask you to do good deeds and not evil deeds and love of the poor, and that you forgive me and have mercy on me, and if you want to tempt a people, then let me die without being tempted. I ask you for your love and the love of those who He loves you, and the love of an action brings one closer to your love.” The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “It is a truth, so study it and then learn it.” He said. Abu Issa, this is a good and authentic hadith. I asked Muhammad bin Ismail about this hadith, and he said, “This is a good, authentic hadith.” And he said this. It is more authentic than the hadith of Al-Walid bin Muslim on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Yazid bin Jabir. He said: Khalid bin al-Lajlaj told us: Abdul Rahman told me Ibn Aisha Al-Hadrami said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, mention the hadith, but this is not preserved. This is how Al-Walid mentioned in his hadith on the authority of Abd al-Rahman ibn Aisha said, “I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.” Bishr ibn Bakr narrated on the authority of Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid ibn Jabir. This hadith with this chain of transmission is on the authority of Abd al-Rahman ibn Aish, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. This is more correct.
