Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29459

Abd bin Humayd told us, Yunus told us, on the authority of Shayban, on the authority of Qatada, Anas bin Malik told us, that a Jew attacked the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. Peace be upon you, O Prophet of God.” He said, “No, but he said such-and-such. Return him to me.” They returned him. He said, “I said poison.” upon you.” He said, “Yes.” The Prophet of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said at that time, “If anyone from the People of the Book greets you, say: “On you.” He said, “On you is what I said.” He said: “And when they come to you, they greet you with something that God has not greeted you with.” Abu Issa said.
