Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29465

Abdul bin Humaid told us, Abu Nu’aym told us, Yazid bin Abdullah Al-Shaybani told us, he said, I heard Shahr bin Hawshab, he said, she told us Umm Salamah Al-Ansariyya said: One of the women said: “What is this favor in which we should not disobey you?” He said: Do not despair. “I said, ‘O Messenger of God, the children of so-and-so have made me happy over my uncle, and I have to make up for them,’ but he refused, so I rebuked him repeatedly.” So he gave me permission to make up for them, and I have not yet moaned about making up for them or for anything else until now, and not a woman has remained of the women who did not. She mourned for someone else. Abu Issa said: This is a good and strange hadith. It contains it on the authority of Umm Atiya, may God be pleased with her. Abd bin Humayd, Umm Salamah, said: The Ansariyyah are the names of the daughter of Yazid ibn al-Sakan.
