Ahmad bin Mani’ told us, Ismail bin Ulayah told us, Ata’ bin Al-Sa’ib told us, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abdullah bin Amr, may God be pleased with him. About them, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “There are two faults that no Muslim man will ever count except that he will enter Paradise. With them are a few. He glorifies God ten times after every prayer, praises Him ten times, and glorifies Him ten times. He said, “I saw the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.” He held it in his hand and said, “Those are one hundred and fifty in the tongue, and one thousand five hundred in the scale. And when you take your resting place, you glorify Him.” And you say “Allahu Akbar” to Him and “thank Him” a hundred times, and that is a hundred on the tongue and a thousand on the scale. So which of you does two thousand and five hundred on the day and night? “Bad.” They said, “How can he not count it?” He said, “Satan comes to one of you while he is praying and says, ‘Remember such-and-such,’ ‘Remember such-and-such,’ until... He turns around, and perhaps he does not do that, and comes to him while he is in his bed, and continues to put him to sleep until he falls asleep. He said: This is a good and authentic hadith. Shu'bah and Al-Thawri narrated this hadith on the authority of Ata' bin Al-Sa'ib. Al-A'mash narrated this hadith briefly on the authority of Ata' bin Al-Sa'ib. . On the authority of Zayd bin Thabit, Anas, and Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with them.
