Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29613

Ahmad bin Mani’ told us, Ismail bin Ibrahim told us, Ali bin Zaid told us, on the authority of Omar, and he is Ibn Abi Harmala, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said: I entered with the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, Khalid bin Al-Walid and I, to Maimuna, and she brought us a jug of milk, and the Messenger drank it. God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and I was on his right and Khalid was on his left. He said to me, “The drink is yours, so if you wish, you may prefer it to Khalid.” So I said as I was. Give preference to someone over your question. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Whoever God feeds with food, let him say, O God, bless it for us.” And feed us with something better than it. And whoever is given milk to drink by God, let him say, ‘O God, bless it for us and increase us from it.’” And the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said “There is nothing that replaces food and drink other than milk.” He said: This is a good hadith. Some of them narrated this hadith on the authority of Ali bin Zaid, and he said on the authority of Omar bin Harmala. Some of them said: Amr bin Harmala, but it is not authentic.
