Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29818

Ahmad ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, he said, Abdullah ibn Maslamah narrated to us, on the authority of Malik ibn Anas, on the authority of Abu al-Nadr, on the authority of Ubaid ibn Hunayn, on the authority of Abu Saeed Al-Khudri, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, sat on the pulpit and said, “Indeed, a servant whom God gave the choice between giving him of He chose the flower of this world as he wished, and between what he had, he chose what he had.” Then Abu Bakr said, “We sacrifice for you, O Messenger of God, for our fathers and mothers.” He said, “We were astonished, and the people said, ‘Look at this sheikh.’ The Messenger of God tells about a servant whom God gave a choice between giving him a flower.” This world is what He wills and what is with God, and He says, “We have sacrificed for you our fathers and our mothers.” He said, “The Messenger of God was the one who made the choice, and Abu Bakr is the one we know best about. The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said, “One of the people who is most trustworthy of me in terms of his company and his wealth is Abu Bakr, even if I were “Taking a friend. I would have taken Abu Bakr as a friend, but the brothers of Islam do not leave a single fruit in the mosque except the fruit of Abu Bakr.” Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith.
