On the authority of Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with them both, he said: Ibrahim, may God bless him and grant him peace, brought Ismail’s mother and her son Ismail while she was breastfeeding him, until he placed them at the house, at a doha above Zamzam at the top of the mosque, and there was no one in Mecca at that time, and there was no water in it. So he placed them there, and placed with them a bag of dates in it, and a waterskin in which there was water. Then Ibrahim stood up and went, and Ismail’s mother followed him and said: O Ibrahim, where are you going and leaving us in this valley that has no water? Anis and nothing? She told him that repeatedly, and he did not pay attention to her. She said to him: Has God commanded you to do this? He said: Yes. She said: Then he will not cause us to lose. Then she returned, and Ibrahim, may God bless him and grant him peace, set off until when he was at the second place where they saw him, he faced the House with his face. Then he made these supplications, so he raised his hands and said: {Our Lord, I have given peace to my offspring. In a valley without crops, until it reached “They give thanks,” and it was made Umm Ishmael She breastfed Ishmael and drank from that water, until when what was in the waterskin ran out, she became thirsty, and her son became thirsty, and she started looking at him writhing - or he said: wriggling - so she set off, hating to look at him, and found Al-Safa the closest mountain on earth next to her, so she stood on it, then faced the valley, looking to see if she saw anyone? But she did not see anyone, so she descended from Al-Safa until, when she reached the valley, she raised the tip of her shield, and then she ran with the effort of a human being until she crossed the path. Valley, then she came Al-Marwah, so she stood on it, and looked to see anyone? She did not see anyone, so she did that seven times. Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with them both, said: The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “That is the people’s striving between it.” When she supervised the Marwah, she heard a voice and said: “Shh” - she wants herself - then she heard, and she also heard, and said: “I have heard, if you have a savior, then help.” If it was with the angel at the place of Zamzam, he searched with his heel - or he said with his wing - until he appeared So she started bathing him and saying this with her hand, and she started scooping the water into her watering can while it was boiling after she scooped, and in a narration: as much as she scooped, Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with them both, said: The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “May God have mercy on Ismail’s mother if she had left Zamzam - or he said: If she had not scooped out the water, Zamzam would have been a spring.” He said: So she drank and breastfed. Her son, and the king said to her: Do not be afraid of the village, for here is a house for God This boy and his father are building it, and God does not waste its people. The house was high from the ground like a hill. The torrents came to it and took it from its right and from its left, and it was like that until the company of Jarhum passed by them, or the family of the family of Jarhum, coming from the path of Kadda. They descended at the bottom of Mecca, and they saw a bird playing, and they said: This bird is circling on water, as we are familiar with this valley, and there is no water in it, so they sent one or two jars, and lo and behold, They are with water, So they returned and informed them, so they came and Ismail’s mother came to the water and said: Will you permit us to stay with you? She said: Yes, but you have no right to the water. They said: Yes. Ibn Abbas said: The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “So Ismail’s mother liked that, and she loves people. So they came down, so they sent to their families and they camped with them, until they were the people of Abyat. The boy grew up and learned Arabic from them and themselves, and they liked it When he grew up, when he reached adulthood, they married him to a woman from among them, and Ismail’s mother died. After Ibrahim had married Ismail, he came to look at his estate and did not find Ismail, so he asked his wife about him, and she said: He went out seeking for us - and in one narration: he hunts for us - then he asked her about their livelihood and their appearance, and she said: We are human beings, we are in distress and hardship, and she complained to him. He said: So if your husband comes, recite peace be upon him. And say: Change your doorstep. He said: That is my father and he ordered me to I will leave you and join your family. So he divorced her and married another one of them, so Ibrahim stayed with them as long as God wished. Then he came to them again, but did not find him. So he went to his wife and asked him about him. She said: He went out looking for us. He said: How are you? He asked her about their livelihood and appearance, and she said: We are well and generous. She praised God Almighty, so he said: What do you eat? She said: Meat. He said: What do you drink? She said: Water. He said: Oh God, bless them with Meat and water. The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “And they had no love on that day, even if they had it. He would supplicate for them about it.” He said: No one would be alone with them outside of Mecca except that they would not agree with him. And in a narration, he came and said: Where is Ismail? His wife said: He went hunting, and his wife said: Will you not come down and eat and drink? He said: What is your food and what is it? What do you drink? She said: Our food is meat, and our drink is water. He said: Oh God Bless their food and drink - he said, and Abu Al-Qasim, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Blessing of the invitation of Ibrahim, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him.” He said: So if your husband comes, then read, peace be upon him, and see him fixing the threshold of his door. When Ismail came, he said: Did anyone come to you? She said: Yes, a good-looking old man came to us, and she praised him, and he asked me about you, so I told him, and he asked me how. We lived, so I told him that I was fine. He said: So he advised you With something? She said: Yes, he reads his greetings to you and orders you to secure the threshold of your door. He said: That is my father and you are the threshold. He ordered me to hold you. Then he stayed behind them as long as God willed. Then he came after that and Ismail was sharpening arrows for him under a meadow near Zamzam. When he saw him, he rose to him and did as the father does to the child and the child to the father. He said, O Ismail, God has commanded me to do something. He said: So do what. I see you as your Lord? He said: And help me? He said: And I will help you. He said: God commanded me to build a house here, and he pointed to a high hill around it. Then he raised the foundations of the house, so Ishmael started bringing stones and Abraham was building until when the building was raised, he brought this stone and placed it for him, so he stood on it, and he was building and Ishmael handed him the stones, and they said: Our Lord, accept from us, for You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. And in a narration: Abraham went out with Ishmael and his mother. Ismail had a bush with water in it, so Ishmael’s mother started to drink from the bush, and it produced milk for her boy until he came to Mecca, so he placed it under a watering can. Then Abraham returned to his family, so Ismail’s mother followed him until when they reached Kada’, she called him behind him: O Abraham, to whom are you leaving us? He said: To God. She said: I am satisfied with God, so she returned and began to drink from the bush. Her milk continued to flow until when the water ran out, she said: If I had gone and looked Perhaps I sense someone. He said: So she went and ascended Al-Safa, and looked and saw if she sensed anyone. When she reached the valley, she heard, and came to Al-Marwah, and did that in several steps. Then she said: If I went and saw what the boy had done, so she went and looked, and behold, he was in a state as if he was yearning for death, but her soul did not allow it. She said: If I went and looked, perhaps I sense someone. So she went and went up. As-Safa, she looked and looked, but did not feel anyone until she had completed seven days, then she said: If I had gone, So I looked at what he did, and there it was with a voice and he said: Help if you have something good, then there was Gabriel, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and he said with his heel like this, and he lowered his heel on the ground, and the water came out, and Umm Ismail was astonished, and she began to swoon, and he mentioned the hadith in its length. ((Narrated by Al-Bukhari)) with all of these narrations. “Al-Doha” is the big tree. His saying: “He stopped” means: He passed away. ... “and running”: the Messenger. “And Alfi”: It means he found. His saying: “he breathes in” means: he breathes in.
