Sunan ad-Darimi — Hadith #54376

Abu Al-Mughirah narrated to us, Al-Awza’i narrated to us, on the authority of Yahya, on the authority of Hilal bin Abi Maimunah, on the authority of Ata’ bin Yasar, on the authority of Muawiyah Ibn Al-Hakam Al-Sulami said: While I was with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, in prayer, a man from among the people sneezed, so I said: May God have mercy on you. He said: The people hit their hands on their thighs, and when I saw them silencing me, I said: Why are you silencing me? But I kept silent. He said: When the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, left May my father and my mother be sacrificed for their sake. I have never seen a teacher before him or after him with better teaching than him. By God, he never struck me, nor taunted me, nor reviled me. But he said: “In these prayers of ours, none of what people say is appropriate.
