Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27026

Abu Ammar and Ali bin Khashram narrated to us, saying: Sufyan bin Uyaynah narrated to us, on the authority of Abu Al-Zubayr, on the authority of Abdullah bin Babah, on the authority of Jubayr. Bin Mutim, that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “O Banu Abd Manaf, do not prevent anyone from circumambulating this House and praying at any time he wants.” Day or night.” And on the authority of Ibn Abbas and Abu Dharr. Abu Issa said: The hadith of Jubayr bin Mut’im is a good and authentic hadith. It was also narrated by Abdullah bin Abi Najih on the authority of Abdullah bin Babah. The people of knowledge differed regarding prayer after the afternoon prayer. And after Fajr prayer in Mecca, and some of them said there is no harm in praying and circumambulating after the afternoon prayer and after the dawn prayer. This is the opinion of Al-Shafi’i and Ahmad. And Isaac, and they used this hadith of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, as evidence. Some of them said, if he circumambulates after the afternoon prayer, he does not pray until the sun sets, and the same applies if He circumambulated after the morning prayer and did not pray until the sun rose. They used as evidence the hadith of Omar that he circumambulated after the morning prayer and did not pray and left Mecca. Until he came down to Dhu Tuwa and prayed after the sun had risen. This is the saying of Sufyan al-Thawri and Malik ibn Anas.
