Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27309

Ali bin Hajar narrated to us, Ismail bin Ibrahim narrated to us, on the authority of Ayyub, on the authority of Abdullah bin Abi Mulaika, he said: Ubaid bin Abi narrated to me Maryam, on the authority of Uqba bin Al-Harith, he said, “I heard it from Uqba, but I have memorized the hadith of Ubaid. He said, ‘I married a woman, and she came to us. A black woman, and she said, “I have breastfed you both.” So I came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said, “I married so-and-so, the daughter of so-and-so.” Then a woman came to us. A black woman, and she said, “I have breastfed you both,” and she is a lie. He said, “So he turned away from me.” He said, “So I came to him in front of him, and he turned away from me.” To his face, I said she was lying. He said, “And what about her, when she claimed that she had breastfed you both? Leave her alone.” He said, “And in Chapter on the authority of Ibn Umar. Abu Issa said that the hadith of Uqba ibn al-Harith is a good and authentic hadith. More than one person narrated this hadith on the authority of Ibn Abi Mulaika on the authority of Uqba bin Al-Harith, and they did not mention about it, on the authority of Ubaid bin Abi Maryam, and they did not mention about him, “Leave her alone.” And acting on this The hadith is according to some scholars, among the Companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and others, who permitted the testimony of one woman regarding breastfeeding. He said: Ibn Abbas: It is permissible for one woman to bear witness regarding breastfeeding, and her oath will be taken. This is what Ahmad and Ishaq say. Some have said Scholars say that the testimony of one woman is not permissible until there is more. This is the opinion of Al-Shafi’i. I heard Al-Jaroud say: I heard Wake up He says that it is not permissible for one woman to bear witness in judgment while separating from her in piety.
