Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27359

Or he will be divorced. This is the view of Malik bin Anas, Al-Shafi’i, Ahmad, and Ishaq. Some of the scholars among the companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said God, peace and blessings be upon him and others, if four months have passed, it is an irrevocable divorce. This is the view of Sufyan al-Thawri and the people of Kufa.
