Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27508

Al-Ansari narrated to us, Ma’an narrated to us, Malik narrated to us, on the authority of Ibn Shihab, on the authority of Abu Salamah, on the authority of Jabir, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said, “Whatever man My life was given to him and his descendants, for it belongs to the one who gives it. It does not return to the one who gave it because he gave a gift and it fell in line with it. “Inheritances.” Abu Issa said, “This is a hasan and authentic hadith.” And so Ma’mar and more than one person narrated on the authority of Al-Zuhri, such as a narration Malik. Some of them narrated on the authority of al-Zuhri, but he did not mention “and his aftermath.” And this is acted upon according to some people of knowledge. They said If he said, “It is yours.” Your life and your descendants. It belongs to the one who created it. It will not go back to the first. And if he does not say “For your descendants,” then it will go back to the first when he dies. Al-Mu’mar. This is the opinion of Malik bin Anas and Al-Shafi’i. It was narrated through more than one authority on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, who said, “Al-’Umrah is permissible.” “For its people.” And this is acted upon according to some people of knowledge. They said, “If a long-lived person dies, then it belongs to his heirs, even if it is not made for his descendants.” This is the saying of Sufyan Al-Thawri, Ahmad, and Ishaq.
