Hadith #27808
Ubaid bin Asbat bin Muhammad al-Qurashi al-Kufi told us, my father told us, on the authority of Hisham bin Saad, on the authority of Sa`id bin Abi Hilal, on the authority of Ibn Abi Dhubab, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, who said: A man from the companions of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, passed by a river in which was a spring of fresh water, and it pleased him. Because of her kindness, he said, “If I were to isolate myself from the people and stay in this people, I will not do so until I seek permission from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.” So he mentioned that to the Messenger of God. God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Do not do that, for the position of one of you in the path of God is better than his praying in his house for seventy years.” “You would love for God to forgive you and admit you to Paradise. Fight in the cause of God. Whoever fights in the cause of God, hiccuping a she-camel, Paradise is certain for him.” Abu Issa said this is a good hadith.
