Hanad narrated to us, he said, Abu Muawiyah narrated to us, on the authority of Al-Amash, on the authority of Ja’far bin Iyas, on the authority of Abu Nadra, on the authority of Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri, he said, “We sent The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was in a troop, so we camped with a people and asked them about the villages, but they did not come to us. Then their master was stung, so they came to us and said, “Has Among you is someone who can perform ruqyah for a scorpion. I said, “Yes, I will, but I will not perform ruqyah for him until you give us sheep.” They said, “Then we will give you thirty sheep.” So we accepted. So I recited to him (Praise be to God) seven times, and he was healed, and we seized the sheep. He said, “Some of it occurred to us, so we said, ‘No.’” Hurry until you come to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. He said, when we came to him, I mentioned to him what I had done. He said, “And you did not know that it was a ruqyah. The sheep and strike me with an arrow with you.” Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith. And Abu Nadra’s name is Al-Mundhir ibn Malik bin Quttaa. Al-Shafi’i permitted the teacher to take a reward for teaching the Qur’an, and he decided to stipulate that. He used this hadith as evidence. Shu’bah, Abu Awanah, and more than one person narrated this hadith on the authority of Abu Bishr, on the authority of Abu al-Mutawakkil, on the authority of Abu Happy about The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.
