Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #28718

Abu Kurayb told us, Abdah bin Sulaiman told us, on the authority of Muhammad bin Amr, Abu Salamah told us, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, on the authority of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. He said: “When God created Paradise and Hell, He sent Gabriel to Paradise and said, ‘Look at it and what I have prepared for its people.’” Therein, he said, so he came to it and looked at it and at what God had prepared for its people therein. Then he returned to it and said, “By Your glory, no one will hear of it except He entered it, so he ordered it to be surrounded by calamities, so he said, “Go back to it and see what I have prepared for its people there.” He said, “So he returned to it, and behold, She It was surrounded by calamity, so he returned to it and said, “By your glory, I was afraid that no one would enter it.” He said, “Go to the Fire and look at it and at What I have prepared for its people therein. Then, behold, they were riding on top of each other. Then he returned to him and said, By Your glory, no one will hear of it and enter it. So he ordered it to be surrounded with desires, so he said, “Return to it.” So he returned to it and said, “By Your glory, I feared that no one would escape from it except “He entered it.” Abu Issa said, “This is a good and authentic hadith.”
