Qutaibah narrated to us, Abd al-Aziz bin Muhammad narrated to us, on the authority of Ja`far bin Muhammad, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Jabir bin Abdullah, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace He, peace and blessings be upon him, went out to Mecca in the year of the conquest, and fasted until he reached the clouds, and the people fasted with him, and he was told that the people had divided They must fast while the people are looking at what you did. So he called for a cup of water after the afternoon prayer and drank while the people were looking at him and he broke his fast. Some of them fasted, and some of them fasted, so he heard that people had fasted, so he said, “Those are disobedient.” He said, and in the chapter on the authority of Ka’b bin Asim and Ibn Abbas and Abu Hurairah. Abu Issa said the hadith of Jabir is a good and authentic hadith. It was narrated on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, that he said, “It is not from righteousness.” Fasting while traveling. The people of knowledge differed regarding fasting while traveling. Some of the people of knowledge among the Companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said God, peace and blessings of God be upon him and others, said that breaking the fast while traveling is better, to the point that some of them thought that he had to repeat it if he fasted while traveling. And Ahmad and Ishaq chose breaking the fast in Travelling. Some of the people of knowledge among the Companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and others said: If he finds the strength to fast, then it is good, and it is It is better, and if he breaks his fast, then it is good. This is the saying of Sufyan Al-Thawri, Malik bin Anas, and Abdullah bin Al-Mubarak. Al-Shafi’i said. The meaning of the Prophet’s saying, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, is “It is not righteous to fast while traveling.” And what he said when he was informed that people had fasted, so he said: Those are the disobedient ones.” This person’s face is when his heart cannot bear to accept God’s permission. As for whoever sees breaking the fast as permissible, fasts and is strong. Therefore, he is more impressed with me.
