Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #28796

Qutaibah narrated to us, Al-Layth narrated to us, on the authority of Ibn Ajlan, on the authority of Muhammad bin Yahya bin Hibban, on the authority of Ibn Muhayriz, on the authority of Al-Sanabihi, on the authority of Ubadah ibn al-Samit, that he said, “I entered upon him while he was dying, and I cried. He said, ‘Wait, why are you crying? By God, if you are martyred, I will bear witness for you.’” And if I intercede, I will intercede for you, and if I are able, I will benefit you. Then he said, “By God, there is no hadith I heard from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, for you in it except I narrated it to you except one narration, and I will narrate it to you today while I have surrounded myself. I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. And he said: “Whoever bears witness that there is no god but God and that Muhammad is the Messenger of God, God will forbid Hell for him.” And on the authority of Abu Bakr and Omar. And Uthman, Ali, Talha, Jabir, Ibn Umar, and Zaid bin Khalid. He said, I heard Ibn Abi Umar saying, I heard Ibn Uyaynah. Muhammad bin Ajlan said: He was trustworthy and trustworthy in hadith. Abu Issa said: This is a good, authentic, and strange hadith from this perspective and as-Sanabihi. He is Abdul Rahman bin Usayla Abu Abdullah. It was narrated on the authority of Al-Zuhri that he was asked about the saying of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, “Who He said, “There is no god but God. He has entered Paradise.” He said, “This only happened at the beginning of Islam, before the revelation of the obligations, commands, and prohibitions.” He said Abu Issa. The meaning of this hadith according to some people of knowledge is that the people of monotheism will enter Paradise even if they are tortured by Hell. Because of their sins, they will not abide forever in Hell. It was narrated on the authority of Abdullah bin Masoud, Abu Dharr, Imran bin Husayn, and Jabir bin Abdullah, Ibn Abbas, Abu Saeed Al-Khudri, and Anas bin Malik, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, that he said, “A people will emerge from the Fire of People of monotheism and they will enter Paradise. This is what was narrated on the authority of Sa`id bin Jubayr, Ibrahim al-Nakhi and more than one of the followers. It was narrated in more than one way on the authority of Abu Hurairah, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, in the interpretation of this verse: (Perhaps those who disbelieve wish they were Muslims) They said, “When the people of monotheism are brought out of Hell and admitted to Paradise, those who disbelieve will wish they were Muslims.”
