حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ تَطَوُّعًا حَيْثُمَا تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ وَهُوَ جَاءٍ مِنْ مَكَّةَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ هَذِهِ الآيَةَ ‏:‏ ‏(‏وَلِلَّهِ الْمَشْرِقُ وَالْمَغْرِبُ ‏)‏ الآيَةَ ‏.‏ قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ فَفِي هَذَا أُنْزِلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ‏.‏ وَيُرْوَى عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي هَذِهِ الآيَةِِ ‏:‏ ‏(‏)ولله الْمَشْرِقُ وَالْمَغْرِبُ فَأَيْنَمَا تُوَلُّوا فَثَمَّ وَجْهُ اللَّهِ ‏)‏ قَالَ قَتَادَةُ هِيَ مَنْسُوخَةٌ نَسَخَهَا قَوْلُهُ ‏:‏ ‏(‏فَوَلِّ وَجْهَكَ شَطْرَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ ‏)‏ أَىْ تِلْقَاءَهُ ‏.‏ حَدَّثَنَا بِذَلِكَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّوَارِبِ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ‏.‏ وَيُرْوَى عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، فِي هَذِهِ الآيَةِ ‏:‏ ‏(‏أَيْنَمَا تُوَلُّوا فَثَمَّ وَجْهُ اللَّهِ ‏)‏ قَالَ فَثَمَّ قِبْلَةُ اللَّهِ ‏.‏ حَدَّثَنَا بِذَلِكَ أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ بِهَذَا ‏.‏

Abd bin Humayd told us, Yazid bin Harun told us, Abd al-Malik bin Abi Suleiman told us, he said I heard Saeed bin Jubayr, narrating On the authority of Ibn Umar, he said: The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, was praying voluntarily on his camel wherever it took him as he came from Mecca to Mecca. Medina, then Ibn Umar recited this verse: (And to God belongs the east and the west.) The verse. Ibn Umar said, “In this it was revealed.” This verse. Abu Issa said: This is a hasan and authentic hadith. It is narrated on the authority of Qatada that he said in this verse: () And by God The East and the West So wherever they turn, there is the face of God.) Qatada said, “It is abrogated.” He abrogated it, saying, “Then turn your face toward the Sacred Mosque.” That is, meeting him. Muhammad ibn Abd al-Malik ibn Abi al-Shawarib narrated that to us. Yazid ibn Zuray’ narrated to us, on the authority of Sa’id, on the authority of Qatada. And it is narrated On the authority of Mujahid, in this verse: (Wherever they turn, there is the Face of God.) He said, then there is the Qiblah of God. Abu Kurayb Muhammad told us about that. Ibn Al-Ala told us about this. Waki’ on the authority of Al-Nadr Ibn Arabi on the authority of Mujahid.
