Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29119

Ahmad bin Mani’ told us, Abu Muawiyah told us, Al-A’mash told us, on the authority of Abu Salih, on the authority of Abu Sa’id, on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, in his saying: (Thus have We made you a moderate nation.) He said, “Justly.” Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith. Abd ibn narrated to us. Humayd, Ja’far bin Aoun informed us, Al-Amash informed us, on the authority of Abu Salih, on the authority of Abu Sa’id, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “His name will be Noah It is said, “Did you convey the message?” He says, “Yes.” Then his people are called, and it is said, “Did you convey the message?” They say, “No warner came to us, nor did he come to us from anyone.” So he says, “Who are your witnesses?” He says, “Muhammad and his nation.” He said, “And you will be brought as witnesses that he has conveyed the message.” That is the word of God: (And likewise We have made you a moderate nation that you may be witnesses over the people and that the Messenger may be a witness over you.) And the just middle. Abu Issa said: This is a hadith. Hassan Sahih. Muhammad bin Bashar narrated to us, Ja’far bin Aoun narrated to us, on the authority of Al-A’mash, and something similar.
