Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29252

Abd bin Humaid told us, Ubaid Allah bin Musa told us, on the authority of Israel, on the authority of Mansour, on the authority of Salem bin Abi Al-Jaad, on the authority of Thawban, he said When it was revealed: (And those who hoard up gold and silver) He said: We were with the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, on some of his travels, and some of them said Its companions revealed what was revealed regarding gold and silver. If we knew which money is better, we would take it. He said, “The best of it is a receptive tongue and a heart.” He is thankful and has a faithful wife who helps him in his faith. He said: This is a good hadith. I asked Muhammad bin Ismail and told him Salem bin Abi Al-Ja`d heard from Thawban and he said, “No.” So I told him, “From among the Companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace,” he heard. He said, “He heard from Jabir bin Abdullah and Anas bin Malik and more than one of the Companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, mentioned.
