Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29262

We will copy them into the Qur’an, then we will return them to you.” So Hafsa sent to Uthman with the scrolls, and Uthman sent for Zayd bin Thabit, Sa`id bin Al-Asi, and Abd al-Rahman bin al-Harith bin Hisham. And Abdullah bin Al-Zubair said: “Abrogate the pages into the copies of the Qur’an,” and he said to the three people of the Quraish, “What do you differ about? And Zaid bin Thabit, so write it in the language of the Quraysh, for it was revealed in their language. Until they transcribed the pages into the Qur’an. Uthman was sent to every region with a Qur’an from Those are the Mushafs that they copied. Al-Zuhri said, Kharijah bin Zaid bin Thabit told me that Zaid bin Thabit said, “I lost A verse from Surah Al-Ahzab that I used to hear the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, reciting: (Among the believers are men who have been true to what they covenanted with God, so among them are those He passed away. So I looked for it and found it with Khuzaymah ibn Thabit or Abu Khuzaymah, so I put it in its surah. He said. Al-Zuhri, so they disagreed that day about the coffin and the coffin. For that reason, Abdullah bin Masoud, O people of Iraq, conceal the Qur’an that you have and distort it, for God says: (And whoever conceals the Qur’an will bring what he distorted on the Day of Resurrection) So meet God with the Qur’an. Al-Zuhri said, “I have heard that he disliked that, based on the statement of Ibn Masoud, “Men of the best companions of The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: This is a hasan and authentic hadith. It is the hadith of al-Zuhri and we do not know it except from his hadith.
