Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29271

Abd bin Humaid told us, Hussein Al-Jafi told us, on the authority of Zaida, on the authority of Abd al-Malik bin Umair, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Laila, On the authority of Muadh bin Jabal, he said: A man came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said, O Messenger of God, did you see a man meet a woman and there was no acquaintance between them? So, a man does not have any sexual intercourse with his wife unless he himself has come to her, except that he has not had intercourse with her. He said, then God revealed: (Establish the prayer At the end of the day and at the end of the night, indeed, good deeds cancel out evil deeds. This is a reminder for those who remember.) So he commanded him to perform ablution. And he prays. Muadh said, so I said, O Messenger of God, is it for him in particular or for the believers in general? He said, “Rather, for the believers in general.” Abu said. Jesus, this is a hadith whose chain of transmission is not connected. Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Laila did not hear from Muadh, and Muadh bin Jabal died during the caliphate of Omar. Omar and Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Laila were killed, a young boy of six years old. He narrated on the authority of Omar and he saw him. Shu`bah narrated this hadith on the authority of Abd al-Malik bin Umair, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Laila, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, mursal.
