Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29314

Ahmad bin Mani’ told us, Al-Nadr bin Ismail Abu Al-Mughirah told us, on the authority of Al-A’mash, on the authority of Abu Salih, on the authority of Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri, may God be pleased with him. He said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, recited: (And warn them of the Day of Regret.) He said: “Death will be brought as if it were a ram that was salted until It will be stopped at the wall between Paradise and Hell, and it will be said, “O people of Paradise,” so they will drink. And it will be said, “O people of Hell,” so they will drink. So it will be said. Do you know this? They say: Yes, this is death. So he lies down and is slaughtered. Had God not decreed that the people of Paradise should live therein? And those who remained alive would have died of joy.
