Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #26849

Hussein Al-Jafi, on the authority of Zaida, on the authority of Simak, similar to it with this chain of narration. Abu Issa said: The hadith of Ibn Abbas contains a difference. This hadith is acted upon according to most of the people of knowledge. They said that the testimony of one man is accepted in Fasting. This is what Ibn Al-Mubarak, Al-Shafi’i, Ahmad and the people of Kufa say about it. Ishaq said: He should not fast except with the testimony of two men. The scholars did not differ regarding breaking the fast, saying that only the testimony of two men is accepted.
