Hadith #26425
Ishaq bin Musa Al-Ansari narrated to us, Ma’an narrated to us, Malik narrated to us, on the authority of Summa, on the authority of Abu Salih, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him He said: “If the imam says, ‘God hears those who praise Him,’ then say, ‘Our Lord, and to You is praise,’ for he is the one whose statement agrees with his statement.” The angels forgave him all his previous sins.” Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith. Some of the people of Knowledge from the Companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and those after them, that the imam says, “God hears those who praise Him, ‘Our Lord, to You be praise.’” And those behind him say The Imam is our Lord, and praise be to You. This is what Ahmad says. And Ibn Sirin and others said, “Whoever is behind the Imam, God listens to those who praise him, Our Lord, and to You is Praise, as the Imam says, and this is also what Al-Shafi’i and Ishaq say.
