The hadith of Umar, where he said to Uthman and ablution also, and you know that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, commanded By washing on Friday. If they had known that his command was obligatory and not optional, he would not have left Uthman’s life until He takes him back and says to him, “Go back and wash.” This was hidden from Uthman despite his knowledge, but it is indicated in this hadith that the bath is on Friday. There is a virtue in it that is not an obligation and it is obligatory for a person to do so.
